Our Building Process
Big projects can be intimidating and you need to know what to expect. We follow a straightforward formula that has been proven to simplify the building process for our clients. What you will find below is an example of the journey we will guide you through. We want you to be as involved as you want to be and will tailor our approach to suit your needs.
Initial Consultation
After you submit your proposal through our contact form, we will arrange a time to come and see your home or property and talk more in depth about your ideas for it. Once we determine your goals and expectations, we will take measurements and figure out our plan of action.
Design Contract
If we both feel confident that we are a good fit for your renovation or new build, we will sign a design contract and take a deposit to begin the Design Process.
Design Process
Next we will include the interior designer and architect in the conversation, collaborating together to determine creative possibilities and finalize the details of your project. We are happy to provide our knowledgeable insight based on our experience, to ensure that your building plan is both exciting and as well as feasible. We will begin to create floor plans, organize our sub-trades, and begin selecting the finishes for your space. At the end of this phase you will have 3D renderings and architectural drawings to give you an idea of what your renovation or new home will look like.
Costing
At this stage we will begin to build your project quote with as much accuracy as possible. We think through every detail to reduce surprises and keep your cost as low as we can. We believe in complete transparency with our clients and are willing to disclose all markups and give you complete control. We take your budget seriously and will maintain that transparency throughout the building process. If and when any changes are made, we will always request consent for all costs.
Construction Contract
Once you have approved the quote for construction, we will sign a construction contract and begin the exciting part - watching your dreams become reality!
Permits & Building
Next, we will obtain all necessary permits to begin construction. Whether you stay in your home or move elsewhere for the duration of the project, we will treat your home as if it were our own. We believe in maintaining order with a high standard of excellence, which means keeping your home clean, safe, and organized every step of the way. At this point, if changes are made to the scope of the project, we are happy to accommodate them and adjust the costing accordingly. We expect surprises when we begin a renovation, and we will maintain open lines of communication about the project in every stage.
Final Walk Through
Once your dream home or renovation is complete, we will walk through the property with you to ensure that it meets your standards as well as our own. We will then sign off on the completed contract, provide you with all necessary documents, and give back the keys to your home. It is our goal to give you a house that you will be delighted to call your home for many years to come!
